I've been absent from blogging recently as I have taken the opportunity to work in my new role with ExxonMobil. It's been a real transition working in the L&D space for a contractor organization in energy and now within an owner-operator company. I'm enjoying the opportunities and challenges now working in a global position, and the transitions in thinking around global consistency, vendor management, and governance. It's going to be an interesting and enjoyable ride and hope that lessons from this journey can be shared here.

Lessons So Far...
- 11. You are your own story(But don't let anyone else tell it.)
- 10. Expectations get in the way(When you feel entitled to something, then you're probably not)
- 9. Build your successes into opportunities for change(Look for trends, attach yourself to them, and then innovate them.)
- 8. Practice being slow(Ask yourself if you could go any slower, often.)
- 7. Whether you know it or not, you're a risk manager(Do absolutely everything you can to 'stretch' and develop yourself.)
- 6. Pay attention to landscapes(Understand the importance of place in your life and where you are at your best.)
- 5. Travel Lightly(Bringing much 'baggage' with you doesn't help.)
- 4. Listen to your elders(Lessons about life and business are everywhere, but you need to learn to listen for them.)
- 3. Relationships Matter(The quality of your work is compounded through the quality of your relationships.)
